Highlight of Scandinavian medals at the 2018 IBJJF European Championship

So another edition of the IBJJF European championship is now over and it was packed with high level athletes from around the world who fought great fights. Scandinavian countries including Finland were well represented with Finland having 140 athletes competing at the event and Sweden had 111 athletes.

A couple of major highlights of this European Championship were the final of the absolute Purple / Adult / Male / Heavy division where Cemil Karahan took home the gold and Tommy Lilleskog Langaker who defeated Erberth Santos via triangle choke in the quarter finals of the Black / Adult / Male / Open division, both events set the crowd crazy. Honourable mentions who did not make the podium at this European this year were Espen Mathiesen and Tommi Pulkkanen. Unlike previous years where we try to do an account of all Scandinavian medals, this year we will do a highlight of the main Scandinavian medals from purple to black belt. PS: The list below is purely based on what we came across and thought was a highlight. If for some reason you have won a medal and are not in the list below, just send us an email and we will include you!
